Costa Rica Hotels
In the Central Valley area of Costa Rica there is a great variety of Hotels and no shortage of places to stay. It is rare to arrive in a town and be unable to find somewhere to sleep, but during Easter week or weekends in the high season and during the end of the year, the beach hotels are full. Indeed, most beach hotels are booked several weeks in advance during this time.
Hotel accommodations can also be tight if a special event is going on in a particular town. Private lodges and expensive hotels in remote areas should always be reserved in advance if you want specific dates.
Most travellers prefer to make advance reservation everywhere - this is possible even in the cheapest hotels and recommended in the better places. Faxes, E-mails and the Internet are cheaper than phone calls.
Many hotels in Costa Rica are called Cabinas. These aren't literally cabins. They are usually large rooms, often but not always with several beds (suitable for a family) and with a private bath. Cabinas aren't necessarily separated into individual units but are often duplexes or rows of rooms adjoining one another. This style of hotel tends to the budget end of the market.
Angela and Jörn and we all at FlamingoLink, S.A. wish you the best vacation in our small paradise.
